Amita Chebbi is a professional with extensive experience in the development as well as financial services sectors. She is currently consulting with the Power of Nutrition, a UK-based Foundation, to support its work in Asia. The Power of Nutrition was set up with the objective of crowding in resources to address malnutrition and she is helping identify opportunities for collaboration between and among the public and private sectors.

Previously, she was with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), where she led all programmes in India as Country Director. In this role, she was responsible for evaluating new opportunities, setting up partnerships, fundraising and managing all aspects of operations in the country. She was also responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships with pharmaceutical partners in India and facilitated access to lower prices for anti-retrovirals (ARVs) to more than 70 countries in the developing world. As Country Director, she led the conceptualisation and implementation of a programme to scale up access to zinc and ORS for pediatrics diarrhoea as well as developed a strategy to address under-nutrition in children under 3.

More recently, she was Head-South Asia, Strategy and Partnerships at the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), the largest private philanthropy in the UK. In this role, she provided strategic direction in developing CIFF’s investment portfolio in the region across the health, education and nutrition sectors with a specific focus on children.
