Ms. Amita Chaudhury

Amita Chaudhury is Sustainable Business Director for South East Asia and Australasia. She works with the Unilever SEAA board, markets and category teams to build an integrated agenda for sustainability led business value through brands and business models and reduction in environmental impact focusing on post-consumer waste. In her role, she helps to identify and support the implementation of programs in markets to build a brighter future for the planet and the communities Unilever serves while delivering stronger business growth.
Prior to this. Amita was the Global Diversity Director from 2010-2016. Her role as Global Diversity Director was to facilitate the development of Gender balance strategy in partnership with the Global Diversity Board chaired by the CEO. She helped build internal capability in this space through knowledge transfer across geographies and enhancing subject matter expertise. She also created the Global Diversity Champions group within Unilever, a cross section of diversity and inclusion champions from across the business and work levels who are helping to bring a rich palette of inputs to the development and execution of the gender balance agenda in Unilever.
During the time she led Diversity and Inclusion in Unilever, the company has become a well recognized leader in Gender balance winning over 30 awards across geographies including the Catalyst Award in 2013 for creating an enabling environment in recruitment, retention and development of women in the workplace. She has also been the recipient of the highest internal recognition – the Compass award for her work. Amita has been a management professional for 15 years; she has worked in and for Fortune 500 corporations- Unilever, McDonald’s and Colgate Palmolive in India, Singapore, Hong Kong and the UK. She has been nominated and won awards for outstanding communication both in Unilever and Colgate Palmolive; she is also the author of the book, “Working mothers, happy kids”. She is the associate of higher education academy at City university of London, has an MBA in Marketing and International Management from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India and Honors in Mathematics from University of Delhi, India.Back to Speakers / Panellists »
